Within her is the power to transform, nurture and transform –Diane mariechild Dr.M.Akila Ph.D. currently serves as Principal, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology and Organizing Secretary, IGEN Nobel Laureate Lecture Series. She is actively engaged in teaching and research for the last 24 years. Her specialization and major areas of research includes Pattern Recognition, Optimization and Image Processing. She has several research articles published in National and International refereed and indexed Journals of repute with impact factor and citations. Currently 2 PhD students are actively engaged in research work under her guidance .. She has been convener of many conferences and Program Committee member for many national and international conferences. She has been reviewer for more than 5 scientific research journals. She has recently published an article titled “Empowering and nurturing Features” which has been shortlisted and her profile has been featured in the “The Academic Sights” under the special edition “India’s Top 20 Pragmatic woman Leaders in Education industry . She has held several administrative posts in her illustrious career as Controller of examinations, Chairman of Board of Studies, Member in Research Advisory Committee, Curriculum Development Committee, Governing Council, and Academic council. She is Life Member of many organizations related to Engineering. She has always been a part of empowering women in various aspects and facilitating every woman in the college with every needs which also includes the dress codes. .she has been recently got an award titled “Winner Woman in Academics” in Tamilnadu Woman Achievers Awards 2021.Under her guidance, the women Empowerment Cell functions effectively through creating awareness on health, community service, self defence , administration and entrepreneurship Having equipped herself to reach the highest position in the social ladder, she proves to be a good administrator, a responsible mother and an inspiring woman to all. Her administrative strategies and problem solving skills, makes her to be the right person to talk on "Balancing work and home - an Art".
